Tell Me What You See.........

On a side street in Rome there are a thousand buildings that sit quietly.....watching the tourists pass, day in, day out.

For those of us visiting, we marvel, we stare in awe....but if you take more than a passing glance you will see beyond stone walls and creeping ivy.

Ancient history lives here, ghosts of a time long since past, the daily passage of life, conversations carried on the breeze.

Come away from the grand and famous places that attract the crowds and you will find the pure essence of a place, where the people live, once lived and shall continue to long after we have passed.

The great monuments of the world are wonderful to see, but go deeper, immerse yourself in the energy that flows through the laneways, the cobbled streets where the daily lives of man, woman and child played out completely oblivious to wonder we feel.

My advice........leave your selfie-stick at home, by all means take a photo, but most of all, live it, breathe it, find a café and people watch, order some bread that has been crafted by artisan bakers and watch the daily show that has been a thousand years in the making, only then will you be able to tell me what you see !
