I sometimes think we are all like squirrels pushing buttons expecting some reward to pop up out of the floor.......many of us spend our lives pushing button and the rewards seem few and far between.
Recently I discovered that to gain any type of reward you must first make a few smart choices.
Mistakes often occur when we view success as financial.......something to own, to hold onto...a possession if you like, something nobody else has !
The truth is that we already have that, simple though it seems, it is the one thing that has been with us since birth......Ourselves !
We all spend our lives pushing buttons, asking questions, demanding answers and generally wasting a monstrous amount of effort and energy chasing that one thing we can't see, experience eventually shines a light for you.
All the button pushing in the world won't bring you happiness.
When all is said and done, try to be remembered for something good, that lame joke that made someone smile, a simple compliment that changed someone's life.
No amount of money or status will ever leave a lingering memory, it will only leave resentment and a life wasted, people that know you should be left with a longing to hear that lame joke again, to be complimented one more time.
These are the things I have learned.......there are no shortcuts, it doesn't matter how long it takes to get there, as long as you get there !
