My fascination in alchemy was fuelled recently by several discoveries, fictional characters stepped off the pages of a book and into my life.......let me explain !
Nicholas Flamel was an alchemist who started life in Paris.....a long time ago, he was married to a mysterious woman who practised majik.
Mystery surrounds this man and his wife, their journey's......their sudden departure from Paris, their return and their financial abundance that was documented as almost instantaneous.....while viewed as suspicious by some their philanthropic activities lasted longer than the greed of the day !
I cannot explain my obsession over this historical figure, nor can I answer many of the mysterious questions that followed the couple through Europe and history to this day, but then what is life without a little mystery and majik ?
It may be a case of wishful thinking....one thing I know, this man and his wife were real, they lived....maybe they still do if the tales of alchemy and immortality are to be believed.
The most important lesson in this tale is that we must never stop believing......dare to dream that majik and mystery are real; commonplace and current......wander the streets of any ancient city and you will see hints of a curious past, messages left for us like breadcrumbs on a path.
The reality we see around us at present may be a false illusion....maybe we have yet to grow into this wonderfully diverse world......maybe the majik and wonder are waiting up ahead....waiting for us to catch up !
