Its interesting to observe human beings evolving, we embrace all that is new, shiny and exciting. Yet the more things change, the more we return to the ways of the past, yearn for something simple and slower.
The world now moves at a pace the defies belief, technology surrounds us, invades our privacy, dictates our path for the future and yet we accept this way of living, this can't live without it attitude.
For as long as I can remember I have grown something, from watching my Grandfather lifting potatoes out of the rich dark soil, to planting seeds in Spring in my family garden and enjoying their bounty as Summer came and went.
So tell me ?..........where did it all go wrong, when did we lose our excitement for watching new life spring from the ground, feeling the dirt with our hands while blackbirds hopped around us searching for worms.
If you don't have a patch of land, big or small, then plant something in a pot on a window ledge, contribute to the growth of something other than your self or the greed of others, slow things down enough to watch changes in leaf colour or ripening of Summer fruit.
Go outside and breathe in some fresh air.
For those that are fearful of such activities.........try it on a small scale, this is true self improvement, because planting a machine in the ground won't produce anything.
Each of us has a responsibility to share knowledge, to teach each other how to survive, we were all borne from this earth of ours and to it we will return, there is no escaping that fact, but while we are here, produce something that doesn't involve gigabytes or pixels....they won't feed you, physically or on a soul level.
