So, my question then is...what is abnormal ?
What combination of qualities, characteristics or mannerisms make up who we are and what we are about ?
Unfortunately there Never has been a guide produced for anyone to follow...yes there are books that would fill the deepest oceans on how we should be, in what direction we need to take to be happy, but honestly these were all written as a point of view of another persons opinion !
There is no one size fits all...nature over nurture...nature always wins out, the natural order of things will always find its way out into the light despite our best efforts to corral, confine and restrict the way forward.
I have had to find a way, one that suited me...not others, me !
Yes, there should be a guiding hand along the way, but one that lets us all fall so that we may get up and try again.
It has taken more years than I care to mention to find who I am...there are days that I wonder if we are there yet, probably not !
We should never stop exploring...ourselves, our directions, our mistakes even, this is the only way forward, the only we will learn.
I observe my life and fail to find answers as to how I arrived here, why I like certain thing or surround myself with the people I do...I am my own worst critic and judge myself too harshly at times...one thing I have learned is that those around me are here because of what we are as a group, at any one point we are free to leave, to seek out new adventures...but for now we cling together.
Much like the Chameleon...we change our disguise often depending on the environment...those that are attracted move closer in an attempt to understand better what motivates and drives us forward...those that find it all a little odd fade into the dark corners of this world to seek out there own answers !
Normal is as each of us want it to be...so I look out of the window and wonder what the day will bring, I smile and consider myself fortunate...if I were to judge myself based on those around me...I am in pretty good shape !
