It's 8.14am......slowly, very slowly the world wakes to another grey summer day.
This is not what we expected....asked for....demanded !
It seems however, this is what we got.
The once upon a time can no longer be relied upon, Summers of yesteryear are gone, those lazy blue sky days where everything was possible.
The steady tick tock behind me on the wall is a constant reminder of change, and the day moves forward...with us or without, it does not care.
It is a new year, Christmas has been packed away.
I glance towards the window, looking for the smallest offering of blue....but there is none.
The older I get the more I understand, our expectations of how life should be are being constantly challenged, ideas and ideals are held up to the light for close scrutiny....many fail the examination.
So today I begin like most other days, ready for anything...as prepared as I can be for what the Universe places in front of me.....the choice is ours, each of us must make what we can while we can......tick tock !
It is a struggle today, maybe the grey is attempting to hold me down.....it never does, for long and this is a choice I made for myself a long time ago. I rarely give up, give in....if its not working in my favour, I will alter my course and find a way through.....how simple that sounds when reading the words...for some its not.
It feels like any other day of the week, maybe that's an age thing...we expect less and yet occasionally the Universe rewards us with a solitary moment of pure joy, much like sailing.....some days are better than others.
Tick tock.....I being reminded again, the day must go on and I must be part of it....the grey won't win, it won't last...it never does !
Remind yourself of this fact constantly....its important that you remember, you must be part of the day also...within you is the ability to rise above anything and everything the Universe tests you with....what will you be today, where will you go.........tick tock !
