No monument will ever measure up to the ego of man !
Living through various decades, the realization that as things change......I see that everything remains the same !
There have always been and will continue to be, no doubt those among us that strive to be great.....in their own eyes or others, it matters not to the individual concerned as to who they stand on to climb the imaginary ladder of success.
Humanity has stumbled through history leaving the path ahead littered with broken promises, shattered dreams and lives altered and yet we continue to produce the same type of person....over and over again.
I was told once, to pacify the dictators of this world one must at all times stroke the ego, caress and bolster if we are to have any sense of peace in our lives.....and yet this seems foolish.....it appears that we feed this hungry wayward child, the more it cries, the more attention we devote to it !
We have reached a point in history where selfies and handouts are required for humanity to survive.
Social media is not very social at all, it only serves the image conscious and gives rise to an unease within society...a measuring stick if you like, for all to compare themselves to.....a false empowerment that leaves many yearning for more....following a twisted path that leads us into the abyss.
Museums throughout the world are full to the rooftops with Marble selfies of those long since past, in one way or another they made their mark.....and yet, where are they now, the inescapable truth is that they have been reclaimed by the earth itself.......as will we all some day !
My words may never reach the ears and eyes of the masses and quite honestly, that's ok with me, I do what I do for my own peace of mind, walk as straight a line as possible and pray on a daily basis that any lives I have the opportunity to change will be for the better.
I observe and I write......as I see it, if I am wrong in my estimation of humanity...then history will be my judge !
