Stand For Something !

It is with a wry smile I look back upon the past few years...who knew this person was waiting in the wings !

As a child I was considered an oddity for my imagination and my shared view of life ahead....apparently I was ahead of myself.

In an interesting and varied way I find myself standing among like-minded folk, supported in a way I could never have imagined, these people encourage and nurture the aspect of play...the older we become the more adventurous our endeavours.....it seems there is little to be gained from staying home with a good book, unless its be H.G. Wells, Obviously !

I have moved beyond the fears of others now, so too have my Family members....my true Family that surround me now, those that understand the importance of being.

There will come a time when I will wander away, but the memory of our activities will linger....people will know we were here, some will admire our courage...others, not so much...those folk will never understand the joy of exploration, of creativity, of Friendship and Family !

There was a time in my life when "What if" paralysed me with fear and yet much like the boy who never grew up I have learned to fly...high above the rooftops, adventure waiting a little further ahead !

I will never be sure what forces brought me to this point, but I do acknowledge with deep gratitude the twists and turns that assisted me along the way, that brought me to this place....one where I feel a contentment, a normality in being and a belonging among others that dress slightly off centre....which is quite a wonderful place to be !

So today.....I dare you to dream...when someone turns to stare, stare back....raise your head with confidence and stride on.

People will either smile or skulk away, retreating to their safe place.....and this is when you know, within yourself......You stand for something !
