Why ?......Why not !

Our first instinct in almost every situation is to question ourselves...our motives...our journey, we are our own worst enemy when it comes to progress of the soul !

Pride appears to be a negative aspect deemed to be unsuitable in social circles, if a person dresses well or reaches out in a attempt at friendship this is viewed as suspicious behaviour...how did we lose our way...when did we lose our way ?

A recent discovery has led me on a journey, as a child fear kept my creative notions securely locked in a box...deep within me, being different wasn't acceptable, it certainly wasn't normal !
Now it seems my point of difference is attractive, others consider my behaviour an alluring feature of my being that gives them the opportunity to break free themselves.

I love the thrill of the old-fashioned.....clothing...behaviour....manners !

I smiled to myself one day when a man in the street exclaimed that my husband and I looked like we were dressed in a manner one would see in the movies.....the realisation that we now write our own script daily gave me comfort and we strode on into the sunlight of a beautiful day...heads held high.

I gave up apologising a long time ago, fitting in, being someone else's notion of how I should be and it is with delight that I see the man I share my life with doing the same....not following me but carving his own style...finding his own comfort level based on self expression.

I often joke about wanting a bronze statue in the square where I live...and yet it really is a joke !

I judge myself by the wonderful people around me now...this is accolade enough and I really couldn't stand pigeons crapping all over me anyway !

So the lesson for today is....why not ?

Ask yourself this over and over until you accept that the world is full of possibilities....YOUR world is full of possibilities....so get out there, turn a few heads, the brave will approach you and ask you the most interesting questions....the others...well they won't even come into view as you stride down the street, with you head held high !
